Transitioning into Fall

It’s almost time for colorful leaves and light layers! Even with all this excitement it could be hard to find the perfect transition outfit to take you from summer to fall. Pairing a knit sweater with a denim skirt is an easy way to stay warm as the weather drops to the high 60s in early September. Also, I’m all for showing off my legs after it is no longer ‘seasonally acceptable’ to wear shorts. Keep baring those legs after August ladies and lets try not to be so sad about summer ending!

Saying “NO” to Yoga Pants

Hi guys! It’s been a while since I’ve posted, sometimes life just gets in the way! Andrea and I actually shot this look on Superbowl Sunday, which was quite a while ago. I was kind of confused on how I wanted to dress for the day because I’m not really into the whole gym clothes during the day, or as the fashion world likes to call it, “athleisure,” trend.

Casual Cool

Lately I’ve been dressing really casual, meaning a lot more of plain blouses and jeans. The other day I actually wore joggers to work and I was shocked at myself. I knew that today I wanted to keep it simple, while still adding key pieces to my outfit to make it my own. Since I’m on this casual streak, I knew I definitely wasn’t going to put on a skirt today.

Wear it with confidence.

My favorite part about dressing myself is seeing how the clothes come together to compliment the shape of my body. Everyone is different and all bodies are beautiful in their own particular way. Pulling pieces that highlight the parts of the body we are confident in is key to creating a beautifully put together outfit.IMG_4128When shopping, I always tend to pick up pieces that have a fit I’m familiar with. For example, because I have wide hips, I always go for bottoms that are either mid rise or high rise. This skort from H&M is just hugging in all the right places. Although it isn’t ideal for fall, I paired it with tights to get more use out of it in the colder weather. Continue Reading

Dress for a Casual Night Out on a Budget!

Hi everyone, welcome to my very first blog post!

First off, I want to let you know a little bit about me before I start. I am a senior at the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan, New York. I study Advertising and Marketing with a huge interest in the beauty and fashion industries. I used to be over weight and I struggled with my weight and skin issues for various parts of my life. I want to share my insight with others because I believe in this mantra, ‘to look good is certainly to feel good.’ I want to empower women and help them to realize that they don’t need to have the best skin or the smallest frame to feel sexy and confident. Learning to utilize the tools we have right in front of us is they best way to achieve what we want, and I’m going to show you how to do it!
